The 68RFE automatic transmission found in 2007 and newer Ram 2500/3500 trucks with the 6.7L Cummins is a common weak point, especially under towing or heavy-load conditions. Many owners experience poor shift quality, delayed or inconsistent shifting, excessive torque management (defueling), and an overall sluggish driving experience—largely due to the conservative factory TCM (Transmission Control Module) calibration.
